The Knappensteig – the longest groomed ski-touring run in the Eastern Alps
The some 8.5 km-long Knappensteig leads directly from Bischofshofen (starting point: cemetery car park, ski-jump grounds) to the Arthurhaus\Mühlbach, offering us a magnificent and safe ski-touring route. After overcoming a gain of around 1,000 vertical meters, we reach the Arthurhaus and a small, precious gem of a ski area on the Hochkeil. Depending on snow and weather conditions, various ski-touring options take us into the Hochkönig area, as well as to the summit of the Hochkeil.
