Snowshoeing – an exceptional nature experience

Experience a magnificent, untouched winter landscape, far removed from noise and the hectic hustle and bustle elsewhere.
Bischofshofen and its neighboring communities, such as Mühlbach, couldn't be more perfectly suited for extended snowshoe expeditions. Whether you are a beginner or a "pro" - you will discover countless tours through picturesque winter countryside, punctuated by delightful opportunities to step in from the cold

Here are a few touring tips:

• Variant A: Easy route to the Wildrauchegg hut
  Meets: Zimmerberg - car park of "Stickerei Stoamugel". Snowshoes are issued, followed by a bus ride out towards Mühlbach - Arthurhaus at 11.10 a.m. or by car pool. 12 noon at the Arthurhaus: Start of the snowshoe hike - Schweizerhaus (above the Arthurhaus) to the Wildrauchegg hut - ca. 1-hour walk until we get to take our break. Return to the Arthurhaus - refreshments also possible. Ride back by bus at 3:30, 4 or 4:30 from the Arthurhaus to Mühlbach - Zimmerberg.
  
  
• Variant B: Easy mountain hike to the Wiedersberg Almen:
  Meets: Zimmerberg, bus in the direction of Mühlbach - Mitterberg, bus stop at the Rupertihaus. On foot, by taxi or private car to the start of the hike at the Kopphütte. Now on snowshoes across open terrain to the Wiedersberg Almen, ca. 1-hour walk - stop for a break - return hike via the Sommerweg back to the Kopphütte - refreshments are possible.
  
  
• Variant C: 3-hour hike through easy terrain from the Arthurhaus to the Mosottalm.
  Departs Zimmerberg on the 9:10 or 11:10 bus to the Arthurhaus - start of the snowshoe hike. Two routes possible, each taking about 2 1\2 hours. Easy terrain out to the Mosottalm -
  refreshment stop - return by shuttle bus to the Zimmerberg.
  
  
• Variant D: Moonlight Hike to the Wildrauchegg hut.
  Car pool Mitterberg - Arthurhaus: Starting point for the snowshoe hike. As in Variant A to the Wildrauchegg hut and return. Refreshment break Thursdays only at the Schweizerhütte.
